Bringing that California Heat

While the University of Southern California’s Women’s team seemed to struggle in the preseason- tieing with UC Irvine, and barely winning against Long Beach State- it seems that the Trojans have found their shape in the beginning of the 2017 season. While I was doubtful about this team, they’ve appeared to have proven me wrong going 5-1 in their first six games, playing three away and three at home. So far in the season, the Trojans have recorded wins against UC Davis, Missouri, Santa Clara, Iowa State and Loyola Marymount- outscoring these teams 9-3.

Tierna Davidson’s Call Up- The Start of Something New

Image result for Tierna Davidson

With the September friendlies that the USWNT have coming up against New Zealand, Jill Ellis recently announced the 22 player Roster for the two games. Surprising everyone, Ellis called up Stanford sophomore Tierna Davidson. Again, only a sophomore, a few people have been wondering what can Davidson bring to the table for the National Team- can she be on the same level as Julie Ertz and Becky Sauerbrunn? Obviously not on her first call up, but this could be the start of a long journey that ends with a new regular defender for the U.S. Team- something that is much needed. Stanford’s Success Story

I don’t mean to brag about my past work, but did I call it or did I call it? Stanford so far, has hit the ball completely out of the park, or for a lack of better terms, directly into the back of the net.
More than several times. To be exact, 9 times in their first two games this season. Outscoring Marquette and Wisconsin 9-0 have catapulted the Cardinals into NCAA first place ranking. Again, I’m not trying to brag, but I pretty much called it from the start. But, for the people who are just now joining us in this college season, I’ll be breaking down Stanford’s recent success- but more importantly how they’re going to continue dominating the NCAA. The Powerhouse Known as Stanford University

Counting down the days until the new season, it’s no mystery who is going to prove itself as the Team to Beat this year. Sure, the women’s team of West Virginia will probably go far, and so will the men’s team of Clemson. However, there’s only one team that pops into my mind, that I know for a fact, the men’s and women’s team have a fantastic chance of moving into first place in the rankings. You probably already guessed it from the title- but surprise- it’s Stanford. Continue reading “The Powerhouse Known as Stanford University”

3 Players That Could Help Win Stanford an NCAA Title

With the new college soccer season just around the corner, it’s time to take a closer look at some players that may just be the key for Stanford’s Women’s Soccer Team to win an NCAA title. After a disappointing 1-0 loss to Santa Clara in the NCAA championship third round last year, they’ll look to come back this season stronger and better. Although they won their 11th Pac-12 conference title last year, they’ll still be looking to come out powerful this season and win an NCAA championship- and here’s the 3 players that could help them reach the title they haven’t earned since 2011.
