Wash U Wins NCAA Women’s DIII Championship

Washington University clinched the Women’s DIII Title in dramatic fashion as they outscored Messiah College in a Penalty Shootout.

The Washington University in St. Louis women’s soccer team won its first national championship in school history with a 5-4 shootout win over No. 6 Messiah College Dec. 3 in Salem, Va.

The team returned to St. Louis and were greeted at the airport by friends and fans from campus. The win was the first time Wash U St. Louis have claimed the national title.
