The UMass Beacons literally brought the fight to rivals Haverford College when three players attacked their opponents in separate incidents during a brutal second of the match-up in the NCAA Tournament.
The ugliness began when a Beacons player, clad in the dark uniforms, reacted to a foul by kicking the ball into the head of his direct opponent.
He was given his marching orders after being shown a yellow card earlier in the game.
Then about six minutes later, a Beacons teammate let his emotions get the better of him when he blatantly headbutted a rival.
But the most hideous piece of violence came from Ocane Williamson late in the match when he lashed out at his defender after trying to chase down a loose ball.
The Division III tournament game finished 1-1 after overtime and would eventually be settled by PK’s – Haverford came out victorious 4-2.
